Had a great experience on a $7 million real estate purchase 2 months ago. Went back to the firm today, thinking they would take care of me. Was passed off from a partner to a junior solicitor with no notice. I didn't like him at all. He talked to me like I was stupid, pushed the fact that I needed to pay them a fee before they would help me, and, in my opinion, had an attitude and seemed disinterested in my business. It's unfortunate when this happens, since it's so easy to call another lawyer who can get the contract done quickly. Not 6 hours later, when you get pages of instructions pretending you are dumb and offering to help when clearly they dropped the ball. You would hope that after receiving this promise, "Confirming receipt of the Contract – we will take a look and discuss with George and be back soon." They shouldn't pass you off to another lawyer who treats you like an idiot and then does nothing all day. Very sad.
