The whole firm works very well together even had in-house Conveyancing facility when we sold the property. If I could give no stars I would. I was told to ring Wightons Lawyers to find out why they put a caveat on my house in relation to my ex husband, their client. I did not even know what a caveat was. Not only was I heinously abused, but threatened by the head lawyer’s PA, who claimed to have read my messages to my abusive ex husband, out of context and without any knowledge of my side of the story, then proceeded to scream at me how disgusted she was and how they were going to take my children off me in court, as they were currently planning. We had literally just started legal proceedings so I was so confused and shaken. She then accused me of trying to find out information about their client, even though I had not said more than a few words, asking about the caveat. This from a firm who claims to help those who are victims of domestic violence. Anything taken out of context can be manipulated to suit a bogus narrative, and abusers are especially good at doing this, which anyone working in this field surely knows. I quickly hung up and was left shocked and so upset from that nasty attack, which I really did not deserve and which left me petrified of the legal system because if that is what I was going to receive in court, I was never going to last. It was completely unprofessional and so damaging to someone who was traumatised and already scared. Ironically my abusive ex husband dumped Wightons and went somewhere else only 2 months later, yet he is still dragging me through the system. After years of abuse, I did not need to be attacked by someone who had absolutely no idea what my story or the truth actually was and no surprises, it was nothing like he claimed. You had absolutely no right! Regardless of your thoughts and feelings, you do not get to abuse anyone, especially when you have not got the slightest idea what is going on. As a nurse, I do not abuse or judge people for their lifestyle choices, knowing that it’s never black and white. We all have a story. My job is to help people heal, not terrorise them for their way of life. Of course he was going to make me look bad! He was never going to be accountable and he needed you to back that up, which in this firm, the administration staff are apparently there for that service. That is why people go to lawyers! If he was a sane person, we would have worked it out civilly by ourselves or a mediator but instead he came to you with ridiculous lies. It was absolutely disgusting behaviour and I’m still reeling from it years later. It’s not ok!! So for all you narcissists out there who want to rattle your opponent by getting them falsely accused, screamed at and threatened, then Wightons is the firm for you! For anyone who is unfortunate to find themselves in this unfair and viscous system, for Gods sake don’t ever ring these people unless you are paying insane amounts of money per hour to them to abuse people for you.
