About the company

Young & Young is a law firm based in Bunbury, Western Australia, providing legal services since 1957. The founding partners were Clive and Campbell Young, who were admitted to practice in England before migrating to Western Australia. Clive set up practice in Manjimup and Campbell in Bridgetown. The firm opened its Bunbury office in 1964 and serves communities in the South West of Western Australia. Both Clive and Campbell continued practising into their 80s; in 2017 Clive was recognised by the Law Society for 60 years of continuous legal practice in WA. Young & Young continues to be owned and run by the Young family.

Before the establishment of the Aboriginal Legal Service, the firm provided free legal advice each week to indigenous clients, as well as free court representation. It was instrumental in setting up the Bunbury Community Legal Centre and has provided pro bono advice to many local not-for-profit organisations over the decades. The firm continues to undertake legal aid work and provides pro bono services on a selective basis in some areas of law, subject to availability. Its main services include criminal, family, compensation, property law, and wills and estates.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Bunbury clients describe Young & Young as a practice that handles commercial and business matters with care and efficiency. Several customers highlight the settlement of business purchases and sales, noting that transactions which could have dragged on were completed smoothly thanks to the involvement of named staff such as Sabrina and Jasmin. Michael, a senior associate, is repeatedly mentioned for his knowledge and willingness to offer guidance, even when a matter falls outside the firm's scope, with one reviewer noting that advice was given despite the case not being taken on.

Simon Jacob and Emma also feature in accounts of business settlements, where quick responses and steady support through challenges are praised. A recurring theme is accessibility: clients describe being able to reach the team whenever advice is needed, and the administration is described as effective and efficient. Reception staff receive similar praise for their helpfulness and patience in explaining matters. Commercial work, business settlements and workers compensation inquiries appear among the matters discussed, with reviewers valuing clear communication and a professional manner throughout.

A quick thanks to Megan Legal Secretary, then in person Michael (Senior Associate) Thursday just gone. All 'cases' are different, although Michael was unable to take on my specific case, at least he gave me a little bit of advice. Workers Compensation is indeed a difficult landscape to navigate as the injured person...and ALL parties involved.

When a local guy wouldn't sell me back my $2000 Gretsch guitar as promised they gave me very good advice on the phone on how to do legal proceedings.

Sent me to legal aid after I told him Slater Gordon stole my money and helped the government with a scandal to switch my identity in my insurance file. Legal aid refused to help. Lucky for me they put my payout under someone else's tax statement so the tax department are investigating and lucky for there's an organisation that investigates the omni who I've touched base with. The government are extremely corrupt. They have stolen heaps of money from me and my creative work including my Opal ring creation. Australian's have no right to Steel my work. It's not a game to me. My creative work sold for million and the government pocketed every cent

Worst lawyers ever!! We have to get a lawyer to sort this company out! Deceased on Oct 30 no communication from lawyer following family informing them of deceased. Family paid out all accounts no property owned. Was told probate was lodged in December just found out it has not been lodged at all!!!! It cost the family money to find that out as lawyers refuse to answer calls. 5 months on still no communication or resolve.
