Prior to CDLA, I was assigned a barrister through the police that delayed the case and would not answer calls or messages until 8pm the night before my first court attendance. I had no idea what I was meant to do. I ditched him and began my search online and suddenly came across CDLA. Knowing nothing about the legal system, I got a meeting with them in their Sydney office. They even assisted my partner to reassure her what to do and that things will be okay when my partner was in an anxious state. They showed empathy and professionalism across the board. I won't comment on costing as I don't know what average rates are compared to other lawyers but the way I saw it was that the money is less important than the sentence.
