Going through a divorce with kids is one of the most emotionally draining experiences a person can face, and having Zoe by my side made all the difference. From our very first consultation, she was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but also genuinely compassionate — she took the time to truly understand my situation and made me feel heard every step of the way. What stood out most was her availability. No matter when I reached out, Zoe was always there with a prompt response, and her turnaround on documents and correspondence was consistently fast. She never left me wondering what was happening or what came next — I always felt informed and supported. Beyond the legal expertise, Zoe provided a level of emotional support I didn't expect from a lawyer. She was calm and reassuring during moments when I felt overwhelmed, and I always left our conversations feeling more confident and clear-headed. If you're going through a divorce or any Family matter and need someone who is not only sharp and professional but also genuinely cares about your wellbeing — Zoe is that person. -Not transparent about costs. When looking for an initial consultation for a binding financial agreement (BFA, prenup) I asked the admin how much the consult will cost. She said she can't give me that info but the lawyer will give me that fee during our initial consultation call. - when I started the phone call with the lawyer J. F. she told me that this call will be billed but she didn't tell me how much it would cost - I have worked with other lawyers before and I was expecting an hourly rate of around 400 to 600 dollars which is what I have experienced in the past so I didn't further inquire about the rate which will be charged - At the end of the conversation I was charged a whopping $1000 dollars for this generic one hour consultation and an additional $500 for a letter summarizing the call. - To be fair I was given the option not to spend the $500 dollars by not opting for the letter however the call was not very informative and confusing so I opted to also get the letter so my $1000 weren't wasted and maybe the written info would be clearer - the phone call was not very clear. A lot of time was spent on taking petty unnecessary details from me - I felt the lawyer was just killing time to get to the full hour. -Also she started making comments about how “living in a $800 per week rental unit” would not be a good enough living arrangement for my spouse in case of a separation. I found that very judgemental, condescending and snobby. -In contrast other law firms are transparent about the costs of their initial consultation and many of them provide an initial consultation for free and they keep it concise and informative with clear info - a very different experience at this law firm. -In comparison other law firms charge $1,760 fixed fee for a COMPLETE prenup, not $1,500 for an initial consultation! -In summary I would not recommend dealing with this law firm unless you get an exact cost disclosure upfront. I was also not impressed by the quality of information provided. It was not very clear.
Cannot recommend Daniel and the team at FGD more highly after their support in managing my divorce proceedings. They got the job done with the utmost expertise, kindness and respect. Will be sending anyone in future requiring family law advice to Daniel. Thank you.
